Concussion-Related Symptoms — Massage Therapy Approach

Overview

Symptoms following a head injury or concussion can affect more than the head alone.

Soft-tissue tension, sensitivity, and changes in tolerance through the neck, upper back, jaw, rib cage, and breathing structures can influence comfort, movement, and daily function.

Massage therapy care related to concussion-type symptoms is provided as part of Registered Massage Therapy assessment and hands-on treatment, with the aim of gently supporting tissue comfort, movement, and tolerance — not diagnosing concussion, clearing return to activity, or guaranteeing outcomes.
