SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Registered Massage Therapy care is provided in accordance with Ontario regulations and professional standards.

Patient safety, consent, and comfort guide all treatment decisions.

Consent

  • Informed consent is obtained before treatment begins.

  • Consent applies to the specific session, not permanently.

  • Consent can be withdrawn at any time, for any reason, without explanation.

  • Treatment stops immediately if consent is withdrawn.

Comfort & Communication

  • Ongoing communication is encouraged throughout the session.

  • Pressure, positioning, and approach are adjusted based on feedback.

  • Discomfort, sensitivity, or concerns should be communicated as they arise.

Sensitive Areas

  • Treatment of sensitive areas requires explicit written consent.

  • Sensitive area consent is discussed and documented before treatment.

  • Declining any area does not affect access to care.

Safety & Clinical Appropriateness

  • Treatment is adapted based on health history, tolerance, and current presentation.

  • Certain approaches or areas may be avoided if safety concerns are identified.

  • Massage therapy does not replace medical care, diagnosis, or follow-up.

Required Forms

  • Completion of intake, consent, and required disclosure forms is mandatory.

  • Treatment cannot proceed without completed documentation.

  • Forms are required to ensure care is provided safely and appropriately.

Mobile Care Considerations

  • Clients are responsible for providing a safe, accessible treatment environment.

  • Changes in health status must be disclosed before each appointment.

  • Massage therapy care does not imply medical clearance for activity or recovery.
