Referrals & Clinical Appropriateness
Massage therapy care may be appropriate as:
• a supportive adjunct to ongoing medical or rehabilitative care
• a conservative, gentle manual therapy option where clinically indicated
Massage therapy may not be appropriate where:
• medical assessment or clearance is required prior to treatment
• high-force or aggressive interventions are expected
• specific outcomes or timelines are sought or guaranteed
